Run In & Recycle™ is a shoe recycling program which began on America Recycles Day in 2007 in partnership with REI.  This is the first ongoing retailer shoe recycling program in the country.  REI acts as the retail collection point, the shoes are collected by the Adult Training and Habilitation Center staff and are sorted by ATHC clients for reuse and recycling.  

Since 2007, the Run In & RecycleTM program has collected several tons of shoes for recycling from the Bloomington and Maple Grove REI stores.  Shoes that are unfit for reuse are recycled.

Run in & Recycle drop off locations include:
•    REI-Bloomington, MN
•    REI-Maple Grove, MN

This program also serves as a recycling option for shoes which are returned to REI which are no longer sellable and is a great way for REI to provide a value added service to their customers.
