Revolution Plastics’ FREE Agricultural Plastics Recycling Program: Now Accepting Applications

May 9, 2017 by Brita Sailer

Farms must sign up for new FREE on-farm agricultural plastic

recycling program.

Farmers should visit www.revolutionplastics.com to notify Revolution Plastics that they would be willing to host a film plastics-only container on their farm. Just two to three full dumpsters a year is enough to justify a location, and smaller farms could share the container.

Already active in Wisconsin,Illinois and Iowa, Revolution Plastics will place the container on the farm and pick
up the plastic at no cost to the farmer. The company delivers the collected plastic to Arkansas where it is made into bags and plastic resin.
The Recycling Association of Minnesota and its principal project partners Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management, Tri-County Solid Waste Administration of Stearns, Sherburne and Benton counties, Otter Tail County and Tri-County Solid Waste serving Nicollet, Le Sueur and Sibley Counties along with other counties including Winona and McLeod and industry partners including Minnesota Milk, Land O Lakes, CHS and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and Minnesota Department of Agriculture, have long been looking for an economically and environmentally sustainable solution for management of Ag plastics.

To sign up, farmers should call toll free 844-490-7873 or visit www.revolutionplastics.com

The first Minnesota collection service will begin in mid- December in Winona County. A second, larger collection hub is planned to begin by February 2017 once 200 to 300 farms within an 80 miles radius of Sauk Centre have signed up for the service.

Service will be expanded to other regions and states as farmers sign up for the service, so
everyone in Minnesota is encouraged to visit the website or call.

Fore more information, call the Recycling Association of Minnesota at (651) 451-4560.
